GX defeated Ghost Academy 2-1 (14-16 Mirage, 16-11 Train, 16-2 Cache) in the playoffs of ESEA MDL S26 to earn a spot in ESL Pro League North America Relegation.
The North American playofs for ESEA MDL saw Rise Nation and SoaR advance to the grand final, with the former defeating Mythic and GX and the latter taking down FRENCH CANADIANS and Ghost Academy.
With the top two teams found, the third-place match between GX and Ghost Academy was left to decide the team to join Immortals and Rogue in the ESL Pro League North America Relegation.
swag's team has a shot at making the next season of EPL
GX had a rough start to the game, going down 14-3 on their own map pick, Mirage. Shawn "witmer" Taylor and co. picked it up picked it up in the second half and managed to make it tight, but Ghost Academy took the map 16-14 in the end.
Train followed, where GX controlled the game right from the start. After a 10-5 first half, Keven "AZK" Lariviere's team won the T pistol and closed out the game 16-11. To decide the series, the two sides played Cache. Braxton "swag" Pierce single handedly closed out the series there, going 30-5 (K-D) as GX won the map 16-2.
